Matcha and white chocolate chunk cookies offer a unique taste experience. Their crunchy texture adds an irresistible touch, while the subtle bitterness of the matcha pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the white chocolate.

For a gourmet twist, you can add nuts or dried fruits, which will further enrich their flavor and texture.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter: 90 g
  • Sugar: 120 g
  • Egg: 1
  • Flour: 170 g
  • Baking powder: 3 g
  • Matcha powder: 18 g
  • White chocolate: 120 g
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Work the softened butter until creamy, then add the sugar and mix well.
  2. Incorporate the beaten egg in two additions, mixing thoroughly after each.
  3. Add the flour, matcha powder, and baking powder, then mix gently until the dough is almost homogeneous (some flour may still be visible).
  4. Add the chopped white chocolate and mix until the floury texture disappears. You can also add nuts or dried fruits according to your taste.
  5. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Once chilled, divide it into 6 portions and flatten them to the desired thickness (the dough will not spread during baking).
  6. Arrange the portions on a baking sheet and bake at 170°C for about 25 minutes. Since matcha burns easily, check the baking progress after 15 minutes. Let cool on the tray before handling, as the cookies will be fragile when taken out of the oven.
